If you go to market, you will find a large number of occupations there :
shopkeeper, vendor, mechanic, doctor, tailor, baker, confectioner, milkman,
carpenter, electrician, and so on. If you go to a hospital, you will find
doctor, nurse, receptionist, guard and so on. If you go to a school, you will
find teacher, principal, peon, trainer, bus-driver and others. Similarly, you
can find engineer, pilot, driver, advocate, writer, editor, computer operator,
accountant, clerk, washerman, farmer and many others around you. There
are so many occupations in the world today that it is impossible to list them
all.
Various Occupations
Farming is the main occupation in villages. A farmer grows crops like
wheat, rice, fruits and vegetables etc. He also rears cattle for milk, wool,
eggs or meat. Some cattle are used for transportation and recreation, like
horse, camel, bullock etc.
Many people have set up small factories to make things like basket, rope,
cloth, gur (jaggery), tools, furniture etc. Such factories are called cottage
industries . Many farmers also make these things in their free time.
