in 1953. The first woman to climb this peak was Bachendri Pal who did it in 1984.
Many rivers originate in the Himadri range. The Ganga originates in the Gangotri
glacier and the Yamuna in the Yamunotri glacier. Melting snow is the source of several
rivers in North India including the Indus and Brahmaputra.

The mountains in the Himachal vary from 3,700 metres to 4,500 metres in height. It is
