Industries
Industries and I
We get many things from the nature. We can use some of them as we get, for example, we
can eat an apple or a mango as we get it from nature. However, we have to process a
potato or a pumpkin before we can use (eat) it. Similarly, we get iron ore from the nature,
but we have to refine it before making a machine out of it. The work of processing or
refining a natural product is undertaken in an industry.
The nature meets our needs through plants and minerals. We cannot use all natural
products in their natural form. We have to process or refine them before use; for
example, we have to process cotton to make it into cloth, sugarcane to make sugar,
tomato to make sauce, or rubber to make tyres. The work of processing is done in
industries, where different types of machines are used.
