Sculpture
Religious statues and idols are popular in Hindu temples. In
addition, a large number of other statues too are made in India.
The Nataraja is a very famous form of sculpture. These are
made from stone, silver and other metals. The Ajanta and
Ellora Caves are fine examples of sculpture.
Architecture
India has a long tradition in the art of architecture. We can find pieces of architecture
right from the ancient period. Monuments, religious structures, forts, palaces and other
buildings have been built in India in a great number.

secularism : a policy in which people of all religions are treated as equal.
dialect : a local language spoken in a limited area.

instrumental : connected with musical instruments.
raga : a style of singing in classical music, determined by content and time.
sculpture : work of art using carving on wood, stone, clay, metal etc.
architecture : the art of designing buildings.
