Communication and I

Mobile phone is like a wonder machine. It was invented to talk with other people from any
place. Now, it can be used to video-call, send messages (SMS, WhatsApp etc.), write and
send emails, make and watch videos, take and send photographs, watch television, hear

radio, read newspaper and more. It has become so popular that almost everybody carries it
in his pocket.

We cannot always communicate with others directly. To save time, we use
different methods of sending messages. These are called means of

communication.

Long ago, people sent messengers with written or oral messages. Then a
system of sending letters through the postal department was devised. This

system is called the postal system in which a postman plays a key role. But
this system takes a long time.

Technology has come to play an important role in sending messages. Now

messages can be sent very quickly to those who are situated thousands of
miles apart.

We can group the means of communication into two : means of private

communication and means of mass communication.

Means of Private Communication

These means are used in private capacity, that is, one person sends a

message to another person. We can write a letter, talk on telephone, send
message or email in this capacity.
