Some foods are popular in specific areas; for example, parantha in Punjab,
chhole-bhature in Delhi, dosa in South India, pav-bhaji in Maharashtra,
dhokla in Gujarat, machher-jhol in West Bengal, and so on. Fish is an
important food in coastal states.
There are cooked many special dishes in our country. They are cooked on
special occasions; for example, gujhia is cooked on the festival of Holi,
sevain on Eid and ghevar during rainy season.
India is famous for its sweets also. There is found a very large variety of
