Fossil Fuels
Coal, mineral oil and natural gas are the main sources of energy consumed in the world today. They are
called fossil fuels because of their organic origin. The reserves of these minerals are limited but they are
used abundantly both for commercial and non-commercial purposes like cooking , heating etc. They are
a major requisite in iron and steel industries, chemical industries and generation of thermal electricity.
Their consumption is greater than the rate of their formation, so they are likely to get exhausted soon.
