                                                  The Electronic Voting Machine
Electronic Voting machines (EVMs) have been introduced in most of our
polling booths. The machine has the symbols of all the political
parties/candidates participating in the elections. The voter has to cast his vote
by once pressing the blue button on the balloting unit against the candidate
and symbol of his choice, and his vote is registered. Each citizen is allowed
only one vote. That is why election officials apply ink-mark on the finger of
the voter, so that he/she is not able to vote again in the same election.
