country undergoes changes. It is permanent or semi-permanent movement of people from one place to
another, within a country or between countries.
Migration may be of three types, i.e., (i) emigration (ii) immigration (iii) national migration. In
emigration people leave a country and move towards other countries. Sudan is an example of a country
that has experienced a less in population numbers due to emigration. When people arrive a country
from other countries, it is called the situation of immigration. Countries like the United States of
America, Australia, Canada etc. have gained population due to immigration. Movement of people within
an area lying within the territorial jurisdiction of a country is called the national migration.
