Relief Features
The Congo River forms the most important physical feature of Congo. This 4,700-km-
long river runs through the entire territory. It flows from east to west, and is joined by
many tributaries on its course. Its basin constitutes about two-third area of the country.
Its basin is almost plain, and is surrounded by mountains on three sides, the Ruwenzori
