                                                     Decimals as Fractions


            The decimals can be       represented as fractions with denominator 10, 100, 1000 etc. The
            number of zeros in the denominator is equal to the number of digits after the decimal point.

            Like decimals :     The decimals in which the number of digits after the decimal point is equal
            are known as like decimals.

            For example :    3.42, 0.56, 12.79, 1.05 are all like decimals.

            Unlike decimals : The decimals in which the number of digits after the decimal point is not
            equal are known as unlike decimals.

            For example :    5.6, 3.12, 4.035 are all unlike decimals.
            Equivalent decimals :       The unlike decimals having the same value          are known as equivalent
            decimals.
